A clipper system scooting across the middle of the country on Tuesday will unleash blustery winds over most of the Plains and Midwest.
Light snow and flurries will fall on the northern Plains and Upper Midwest. The heaviest snow, such as it is -- a few inches -- should be limited to far northern Minnesota.
High temperatures are expected to range from the teens near the Canadian border to the 50s in south-central Nebraska and western Kansas. Readings around the Great Lakes will top off in the 20s and low 30s.
Areas that have retained their snowpack from last week's big storm will have highs only in the 30s and 40s on Tuesday.

Most of the Northeast will be dry Tuesday, albeit a bit chillier than average for the season.
Snow will be limited to lake-effect bands streaming off Lakes Erie and Ontario. These bands will be most prominent in the morning, then become more chaotic and weaker during the afternoon.
High temperatures are forecast to range from the teens in far northern Maine to the 50s in southeast Virginia. In most of New England, readings will struggle only into the 20s and 30s.
